Israel Attacks Iran, Iran Strikes Back

Last Friday, June 13th, Israel unleashed a Perl Harbor style attack on Iran, with Israeli media openly boasting that the President of the United States’ diplomatic efforts were nothing but a deception meant to out Iranians off guard.

In the first day or so of this unprovoked attack, Israel bragged that it had assassinated Iranian military commanders and nuclear scientists, with Israeli pundits (many of them US Congressmen and Senators) jeering like drunks at a football game. But Iran struck back and has unleashed salvo after salvo of missiles that have gone through Israel’s vaunted “Iron Dome” like Swiss Cheese. This counterstrike seems to have left the Israelis stunned.

For nearly two years, Israel has attacked its neighbors with impunity. They turned Gaza into a 25 mile strip of rubble, and have openly declared thier intention to cleans the area of the entire Palestinian population (some 2.5 million people). Their settler gangs terrorize the people of the West Bank, burning homes and destroying crops. Lebanon and Yemen have been attacked. Syria has been invaded and occupied. And now, Iran is being bombed.

I’ve got my hexo blog running on a very simple AWS setup that consists of:

• S3 - a bucket to store my static files (that I hexo generate)
• CloudFront - basically acts as a simple web server and lets me point to my S3 as an origin
• DNS - I already had a DNS name registered with GoDaddy (and sitting there unused).
• Cert - to get a valid cert, AWS needed me to set up a CNAME on GoDaddy to validate I controlled the domain.

This, of course, all needs to be automated. At work, I would use Terraform with Terraform Enterprise or Scalr, and set up a GitLab pipeline to build and deploy this. But since I’m using GitHub, and don’t have Scalr or TFE set up, I may need to experiment on a good way to do this.

Here are some Lego M-Tron builds/drawings that I made with Studio a few years ago. For my first crack, I was pretty happy with the outcome. I made a whole hanger full of my favorite M-Tron Lego sets. When I was a kid, M-Tron and Blacktron 2 were the space sets I had.

First Post In Years

Time to once again brush off some dust on a blog. Hexo still seems to be a thing so going with that.

Have moved from Arizona to Kentucky, but now trying to flee this place. IQs are far to low. My wife cannot adapt to the backward culture. More to come.

Months have passed, and where is Liberty? Is there Liberty on Amazon?

The bizarre world has only gotten more bizarre. Elon Musk, an African American genius and the richest man in the world, has bought Twitter for billions of dollars, to the utter horror and dismay of the woke world. He’s vowed to axe the greedy board, end the Orwellian censorship, and expose the mysterious algorithm used to manipulate the masses.

The left is freaking out and claiming that their panic is triggered by the inevitable looming horde of right wing trolls that they imagine is readying to lay siege to their conversations. But few buy into this childish excuse…

Beginning - A New Normal

The beginning is usually a good place to give a background. So I will begin my blog by giving a little background of the “new normal”. It’s September 2021 and by now everyone’s hope that this year was going to be any better than last year have gone down the toilet long ago. The “coronavirus pandemic” is still in full swing. The nation is bitterly divided over racism, vaccines, masks, abortion, immigration, war, climate, and a few other pesky things.

Here springs a brand new blog and its contents shall be whatever the fuck John Liberty feels like. The blog is its own place, and in itself can make a heaven of hell, a hell of heaven. No one is going to read it anyways!

John Liberty has many things to discuss - religion, politics, software development, dinosaurs, and all things nerdy. Chances are, that if you read something that John Liberty has published, you will be offended. So be ready for it.
